Supporting a hybrid workforce
The now permanent shift to cloud services and the necessity of dealing with a hybrid workforce have changed modern IT
What is the current state of hybrid work?
Hybrid work has become a standard practice for knowledge workers across various companies. Research indicates that 90% of businesses recognize the positive impact of enabling hybrid and remote work on their bottom line. However, less than half of these businesses believe their employees have access to the necessary technology to work effectively both at home and in the office.
What challenges do hybrid workers face with technology?
Many hybrid workers feel that the technologies they rely on do not fully meet their needs. For instance, a significant challenge is ensuring that remote participants have an equitable experience during meetings. Research shows that while most meetings include remote participants, the experience for those not physically present can be subpar, often due to configurations that favor in-person attendees.
How are companies addressing the needs of hybrid workers?
Companies are increasingly prioritizing the provision of technology that supports hybrid work. For example, 87% of leaders report investing in improving the hybrid experience, yet only half of employees feel these efforts are sufficient. Enhancements include leveraging AI technologies to foster better connectivity and reduce inefficiencies, such as excessive meetings, which many employees identify as a significant time drain.
